WALESKA, Ga. (Mar. 18, 2021) – The Truett McConnell University men's soccer team fell 4-0 Thursday afternoon at Reinhardt University for their season finale. The Eagles increased to a record of 11-2, 9-1 AAC, while the Bears finished with a record of 1-9-2, 1-8-1 AAC.
The first period saw Reinhardt hot from the start, as they put pressure on TMU by earning corner kicks and taking multiple shots. The Bears, resilient on defense, did not allow a single goal until the 23rd minute when the Eagles found the back of the net to hit the board first. Reinhardt continued to gain momentum to earn a second goal making the score 2-0 at halftime. Two more goals were earned by the home team in the second half, but TMU showed their grit by taking four shots of their own, ultimately not enough as they suffered the loss with a score 4-0.
Justin Hicks led the Bears with four shots, one on goal, while Daniel Martin and Aydan Tyree had a shot apiece. Goalie David Windmiller recorded eight saves on the day, tallying 75 for the combined fall and spring season.
