CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. (Feb. 27, 2021) – The Truett McConnell University men's volleyball team suffered two sweeps against No. 2 Campbellsville University (25-3, 25-8, 25-4) and Thomas More University (25-11, 25-16, 25-14) in the final day of the Mid-South Conference Pod on Saturday. TMU fell to 0-6, 0-6 MSC on the year, while the Tigers improved to 11-2, 3-0 MSC and the Saints to 3-6, 1-4 MSC.

GAME ONE 0-3
The nationally ranked Tigers claimed all momentum right away opening up the first set on an 8-0 scoring run. Another 8-0 run by the Tigers put the Bears trailing by 19, which proved to put the game out of reach. Campbellsville proved their dominance again in the second and third set only allowing Bears a total of 12 points through two games, ultimately securing the sweep.

Wensky Saintilmond led the way with six digs and four assists, while
Kaleb Mitchell and
Kyle Trammell led with two kills apiece.
Nathan Hill and
Ethan Conners led with three digs apiece.

GAME TWO 0-3
A slow start ultimately doomed the Bears in set one (11-25), but the second set saw TMU battle to keep the score even (11-11). The Saints, however, went on to close the set on a 7-2 score to go up 2-0 in the match. Although both teams were neck and neck until point eight, the Saints pulled away to clinch the sweep over the Bears.

Mitchell led the defense with nine digs, while Saintilmond led again with eight assists and added seven digs. Conners also had seven digs. Trammell led the offense with five kills, Mitchell had four and Adams had three. Trammel also had three blocks.

The Bears are back on the road on Thursday, March 4, at Webber International University and Saturday, March 6, at Warner University. TMU returns home on Saturday, March 13, at 1:00 p.m., to host St. Andrews University.
