LAURINBURG, N.C. (Dec. 8, 2021) - On Wednesday, the Truett McConnell University women's basketball team traveled to face, Appalachian Athletic Conference foe St. Andrews University. The Lady Bears dominated in play, besting the Knights 53-41. TMU improved to a record of 5-5, 3-5 AAC, while the Knights fell to a record of 0-10, 0-9 AAC.

In quarter one, the Lady Bears earned a 12-point run in the first five minutes of regulation, sparked by a
Sydney Rumble good free throw and shot in the paint (12-0).
Quan Holton and
Re'Tavia Floyd added shots of their own to help TMU secure the lead for the entire first quarter (21-7). In the second quarter, the Lady Bears saw the same results, as a
Sydnie Smith shot from behind the three-point arc continued to grow the deficit. A free throw from Holton sent the Lady Bears into halftime up by 12, forcing the Knights to work from behind (28-16).

In the third quarter, the Knights worked to lessen the gap, but Rumble retaliated with a shot from behind the three-point arc, followed by a layup from Smith. A fastbreak from Holton gave TMU a 41-30 lead, while the final quarter of the game saw SAU fall behind as the Lady Bears secured the win with a score of 53-41.

LEADERS
Rumble led the way on the evening with 15 points, going 3-5 from behind the three-point arc, and tallying nine rebounds. Holton followed with 10 points, going 4-8 from the free throw line. Floyd had seven points and was perfect at the free throw line. Smith had six points, going 2-3 from within the paint and two rebounds. Callihan had stellar defense adding eight rebounds of her own.
