CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. (December 4, 2021) – On Saturday, the (RV) Truett McConnell University wrestling team traveled to compete in the Campbellsville Duals, where the Bears fell in four tough matches against host, No. 11 Campbellsville University (35-16), (RV) Rochester University (34-18), (RV) Williams Baptist College (40-12) and No. 14 Lourdes University (37-10).

Most notable, junior Mitchell Thompson went 4-4 in the 165 weight class, featuring an 8-2 decision win over Rochester, a pin in round two over Campbellsville (3:29), a 4-3 decision win over Williams Baptist and a 5-2 decision win over Lourdes.  Junior Brandon Navixay followed up going 3-4 in the 125 weight class, with a 9-1 major decision win over Campbellsville, a 5-4 decision win over Williams Baptist and an impressive 14-4 major decision win over Lourdes.

Senior Leonel Silvestre captured a 10-8 decision win of his own in the 149 weight class against Lourdes, while freshman Will Parker secured the first decision win of his career with a score of 9-8 in the 174 weight class against Rochester.
