CLEVELAND, Ga. (December 21, 2021) - On Wednesday, the Truett McConnell University wrestling team competed against Thomas More University in their home opener, inside the TMU Volleyball/Wrestling Arena. The Bears battled until the final match, but fell just short to a team score of 28-26. 

Most notable, in his first match back after recovering from injury, junior Ethan Powell earned a first period pin in the 285 weight class (2:37). Junior Geowel Silvestre followed up with a second period pin in the 149 weight class (1:22), while senior Ian James at 174 (12-4) and sophomore Hans Evatt at 184 (17-5) individually earned a major decision win.
