Box Score TOCCOA, Ga. (Nov. 2, 2021) – The Truett McConnell University men's basketball team traveled to Toccoa Fall College on Tuesday, where the Bears secured their second win of the season (81-72). The Bears improved to a record of 2-0, while the Screaming Eagles fell to a record of 0-1.

From the start TMU secured the lead off of back-to-back CJ Brown jump shots (4-0). Both teams battled through the entire first half, with the scored even 7-7 in the 16thminute. Truett took stole the lead after a KJ Riley three-pointer (10-7), and to continue to increase the gap leaving the score (39-28) at the end of the half.
RJ Bryant made quick work in the start of the 2nd half with a three-point shot (42-28). The Bears continue to outshoot Toccoa reaching at most a 22-point lead. Toccoa battled back lessening the gap (65-58) in the seventh minute, but the game ultimately was out of reach with a final Kafunba Toure free throw to make the score (81-72)
BY THE NUMBERS
Individually, Brent Kelly led the way with 18 points, seven assists and five rebounds. Brown followed up with 18 points and six rebounds, while Toure recorded a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds. EJ Smith recorded 11 points, Cory Seitz had eight points, Riley had eight points and RJ Bryant had seven points.

The Bears hit the road to face Appalachian Athletic Conference opponent Bluefield College on Saturday, Nov. 6, for their conference opener. Tipoff is set for 2:00 p.m.
