THOMASVILLE, Ga. (Oct. 28, 2021) - The Truett McConnell University women's basketball team traveled to face the Thomas University on Thursday, where the Lady Bears kept the lead throughout all four quarters, resulting in a final score of 78-64. TMU starts the season with a 1-0 record, while the Lady Nighthawks are 0-1.

The Lady Bears had a slow start, but gained momentum with a three pointer from
Sydney Rumble and a shot in the paint from
Re'Tavia Floyd. TMU secured the lead after a tip-in from
Quan Holton, leaving the score 16-14 at the end of quarter one. In the second quarter, TMU continued to increase in speed with an 11 point rally, sparked by a three pointer from
Natalie Nixon.
Camilla Callihan and Floyd both had shots in the paint to add to the rally, securing a 36-25 lead going into the third quarter.Â

The Lady Bears dominated on the court in the third quarter, led by Floyd who ignited a seven point rally. A shot in the paint from Holton finished the quarter with the Lady Bears on top (55-38). In the fourth and final quarter, the Nighthawks fought back, but the game was ultimately out of reach as the Lady Bears won 78-64.
LEADERS
Floyd led the way with 22 points, while going 7-8 at the free-throw line. Holton followed up with 15 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Callihan had 14 points, while going 4-6 at the free-throw line.
Sydnie Smith had 9 points and was 2-2 from the three point line.
Jessica Jackson had 8 points, with 4 rebounds.
Alysee Dobbs tallied an impressive 7 rebounds on the night.
