Bears suffer AAC loss on the road

WALESKA (Sept. 23, 2020) – In the second game of the season the Truett McConnell University men's soccer team suffered a 3-0 loss Wednesday evening against Appalachian Athletic Conference foe Reinhardt University.

The Bears, defense was capable of holding the Eagles scoreless throughout the first half, however, the Eagles scored seven minutes into the second half (0-1) and it was only up from there. Reinhardt scored twice more in the 61st and 81st minute and TMU was unable to respond.

"Another night where the boys played with a lot of grit and determination," said Head Coach Scott Borchers. "The boys gave their all tonight and we gave Reinhardt a tough battle. Credit to Reinhardt, they are a quality program and deserved the result. We do have positives to take away from the night and look to improve next week."

Junior David Windmiller recoded a total of nine saves on the night. On the offensive end, Junior Trevor Fick, Sophomore Justin Hicks, and Freshman Lucan Yates took one shot a piece.

TMU will head to West Point, Georgia, next to face Point University on Wednesday, Sept. 30, at 6:00 p.m.
