LAURINBURG, N.C. (Feb. 5, 2020) – The Truett McConnell University women's basketball team took a long road trip to St. Andrews University for their 18th Appalachian Athletic Conference game of the season. Last time they met, the Lady Bears defeated the Knights (90-80) but this time St. Andrews came out on top in regulation 77-61 on Wednesday night. TMU fell to 13-12, 8-10 AAC on the season, while the Knights improved to 6-16, 5-16 AAC.
PLAY-BY-PLAY
The first five minutes of regulation saw the Knights pull ahead by as much as 10 (3-13), but Jessica Jackson drained a 3-pointer to spark a rally by the Lady Bears. TMU was capable of getting back within two to end the first quarter (13-15) but it was only up from there as St. Andrews outscored by nine in the second quarter to possess an 11-point lead at the half (21-32).
The Lady Bears came out in the third to outscore by two (15-13), which put them as close as five (36-41), but the Knights were capable of putting up 32 more points in the final 10 minutes of regulation and the Lady Bears were never capable of fully recovering.
LEADERS
Quan Holton led the way with 13 points, eight rebounds and two steals, while fellow sophomore Camilla Howell also scored 13. Re'Tavia Floyd added 10 points and two steals. Sierra Kendall added seven rebounds and three assists.

The Bears are set to host Union College on Saturday, Feb. 8, at 2:00 p.m., before another AAC road game at Allen University on Wednesday, Feb. 12.
