WEST POINT, Ga. (Dec. 9, 2020) – The Truett McConnell University women's basketball team traveled to Point University for their second straight Appalachian Athletic Conference road game on Wednesday afternoon. TMU, however, struggled to score as the Skyhawks came out on top (60-41) to win their third straight (4-2, 3-2 AAC), while the Lady Bears fell to 5-6, 2-6 AAC on the season.

Although
Sierra Kendall opened up the game with a bucket in the paint to put TMU up on the scoreboard first, Point drained their first 3-pointer of the game one minute later and the Lady Bears were never allowed a lead the rest of the way.
Brenna Tate made a 3-pointer of her own to put TMU within two before the end of the quarter (8-10), but Point managed to score in the closing seconds (8-12) and maintained enough momentum to outscore by four again in the second quarter to possess an 8-point lead at the half (18-26).

The second half saw
Re'Tavia Floyd spark a 7-0 scoring run with a bucket in the paint to put the Lady Bears within seven (27-34), but the Skyhawks answered with a 7-0 scoring run themselves (27-41) and TMU was never capable of recovering. Most notable, TMU shot 29.2% from the field, which ultimately proved to be the difference.

LEADERS
Aisya Davis led in scoring with 12 points and had five rebounds. Floyd followed with 11 points, five rebounds and four steals. Kendall added seven points and two steals, while also leading with 10 rebounds.

The Lady Bears are on the road for their December finale at Columbia College on Saturday, Dec. 12. TMU is on the road again on Tuesday, Jan. 5, at Kentucky Christian University before returning home to the Benjamin F. Brady Arena on Saturday, Jan. 9, to host Bryan College.
