CLEVELAND, Ga. (Nov. 4, 2020) – The Truett McConnell University men's basketball team came up six points shy (90-84) of winning their second game of the season in their home and Appalachian Athletic Conference opener against Point University inside the Benjamin F. Brady Arena. The Bears fell to 1-1, 0-1 AAC on the season, while the Skyhawks extended their win streak to four (4-0, 1-0 AAC).

Point got out front by as much as seven in the first half, while TMU's largest lead was two. One minute before the half, sophomore
Marlon Allen put TMU in the lead with a pair of free throws (31-30), but the Skyhawks managed to close out the first half with a 5-0 scoring run to possess a four-point lead on TMU at halftime (31-35).

Ty Briscoe gave the Bears their only lead of the second half (44-43). The Bears were able to get within three points of Point throughout the final 10 minutes of regulation, but the Skyhawks held the Bears off long enough to eventually clinch their first AAC win of the season.

Overall, TMU outrebounded the Skyhawks (42-36) and outscored Point in the paint (48-42). Turnovers, however, ultimately proved to be the difference as Point recorded 18 points off of TMU turnovers.

LEADERS
Briscoe led the Bears with 26 points, including 12-for-12 from the free throw line, five assists and four steals. Two more Bears recorded double figures. Junior
Enocka Franky had a double-double of 18 points and 12 rebounds, while Allen added 14 points and nine rebounds; both also had two blocks. Junior
Darius Tisby contributed nine points.
