CLEVELAND, Ga. (Nov. 10, 2020) – After defeating the Screaming Eagles on the road in the Bears' season opener, the Truett McConnell University men's basketball took down Toccoa Falls College for the second time on Tuesday evening inside the Benjamin F. Brady Arena (70-62). The Bears improved to 2-1, 0-1 AAC on the season, while the Screaming Eagles fell to 0-5.

Both teams battled it out throughout the first 20 minutes of regulation with Truett leading by as much as eight and Toccoa leading by one at most. In fact, both teams locked down on defense at 24-24 as there was a 2:02 minute span where neither team was capable of scoring with about two minutes remaining in the first half. Although Toccoa hit a 3-pointer with 25 seconds to go, two

TMU carried over their lead throughout the entire second half, including leading by as much as 14 (53-39) after an
Enocka Franky bucket sparked a 6-0 scoring run. The Screaming Eagles inched within five with 5:39 remaining (58-53), but the Bears held off Toccoa enough to clinch their third win of the season (70-62).

 BY THE NUMBERS
While Toccoa outscored Truett in the paint by four (36-40), the Bears outrebounded by 18 (46-38). Franky led the way with a double-double of 21 points and 12 rebounds, while also tallying two steals and a block. Briscoe followed with 12 points and three assists.
Darius Tisby and
Xavier Latore added eight points apiece. Tisby led with three steals and three blocks, while also having three assists.
