CLEVELAND, Ga. (Nov. 10, 2020) – The Truett McConnell University women's basketball team faced the Johnson University Royals Tuesday night inside the Benjamin F. Brady Arena. The Lady Bears kept the lead throughout all four quarters, which ultimately resulted in a final score of 79-55. TMU is now sitting at 3-1 on the season, while the Royals fell to 1-4.

The Lady Bears came out hot at the start with a 10-0 run fueled by two Re'Tavia Floyd 3-pointers, followed by a successful shot from Sierra Kendall in the paint and a 3-pointer to secure the lead at the end of quarter one (18-13). Although TMU carried the momentum into quarter two, the Royals gained speed of their own to tie it up at 25-25. The Lady Bears retaliated by scoring ten more points, while the Royals only managed to score an additional three (38-28).
Quarter three saw TMU resilient as they gained a 20-point lead over the Royals with a Brenna Tate 3-pointer. Heading into the fourth with a 18-point lead (59-41), the Lady Bears stayed out front and ultimately clinched their third win of the season with a final score of 79-55.
LEADERS
Floyd led the Lady Bears with 23 points, including 6-for-8 on the 3-point line and 5-for-5 from the free throw line. Kendall followed with 12 points, while also tallying seven rebounds and going 5-for-10 in the paint. Junior Quan Holton totaled 11 points of her own with four assists and five steals. Junior Camilla Howell contributed eight points, while fellow junior Aisya Davis and sophomore Aynastee Frederick tallied six points apiece.
