Women’s basketball wins big at home

CLEVELAND, Ga. (Jan. 25, 2020) – The Truett McConnell University women's basketball team improved to 11-11, 6-9 AAC on Saturday after defeating Judson College in dominating fashion (72-29) inside the Benjamin F. Brady Arena.

After a defensive battle throughout the first 10 minutes of play (7-6), the Lady Bears picked it up in the second quarter to outscore by seven, which put them at an eight-point advantage at halftime (23-15). TMU, however, really took off in the second half. The Lady Bears started out the third quarter with 10 unanswered points and eventually got out front by as much as 26 points (50-24). The Lady Bears went on to lead by no less than 41 points in the final four minutes of the game. In fact, TMU's largest lead was by 45 (72-27). Overall, TMU dominated in the paint outscoring Judson 44-10.

Re'Tavia Floyd led all scorers with 18 points, while three more Lady Bears scored double digits. Two, in fact, recorded double-doubles; Sierra Kendall scored 14 and rebounded 11, while Quan Holton scored 12 and rebounded 14. Brenna Tate claimed her career high of 11 points, including going 3-for-5 from behind the 3-point line. Camilla Howell led with seven assists and Aisya Davis was credited six assists.

Up next, the Lady Bears are back on the road on Tuesday, Jan. 28, at Brenau University at 5:30 p.m., and will return home to the Benjamin F. Brady Arena on Saturday, Feb. 1, to host Montreat College at 2:00 p.m.
