ATHENS, Tenn. (Sept. 14, 2019) ā The Truett McConnell University women's volleyball team bounced back after a tough five-set loss at Bryan College Friday night to sweep another Appalachian Athletic Conference foe, Tennessee Wesleyan University, on their home court in Tennessee on Saturday morningĀ (25-20, 27-25, 25-20). The win improved the Lady Bears' overallĀ season record toĀ 5-7, 3-2 AAC.

TMU started out on the right foot leading the entire first game. Most notable in the second set, the Lady Bears earned a 7-0 run to by nine (17-8), but Tennessee Wesleyan rallied late to tie it up 24 apiece. Nonetheless, a Harris Anne Walker kill pulled TMU out front to finish the race (27-25).
Game three saw the most competitive contest of the night. Both teams exchanged leads but it was the Lady Bears who pulled through. A Bethany Ross kill ultimately sealed the deal (25-20).
LEADERS
Freshman Ranavia Neal led the way with eight kills while Ross followed with seven. Senior Madison Curtis earned six and Abby Maxwell added five more kills with her ninth double-double of the season of 22 assists and 11 digs. Fellow junior Hannah Lee led defensively with 17 digs, Ross had 16, Anna Mumpower had 13 and Abby Mumpower added 10. Walker and Curtis each had four single blocks.
