CLEVELAND, Ga. (Aug. 23, 2019) – For the first time in Truett McConnell University Athletics history, the TMU Cycling team will compete on Saturday in the 2019 Ramblin Race Weekend hosted by Georgia Tech University. In fact, Saturday's event will be the very first TMU Life Sport competition.
The race is set to take place at the Ridgeway Mountain Bike Trail in Elijay, Georgia. See
here for further details on the event.
"This weekend's trail system is of moderate difficulty and will provide a good warm up for the collegiate season," Head Coach
Joshua Muzyka said. "Our team has put in a lot of work since preseason and I'm excited to see how they stack up within the conference so we could use this experience to continue to grow as a team."
The Rock & Roll MTB Showdown on September 14 – September 15 will be the first race to take place at TMU's brand new very own mountain biking trail.
"We are so excited to have our cycling students on campus and can't wait to watch them compete in mountain biking," Athletic Director
Jenni Shepard said. "Our course is almost 100% complete and we are really looking forward to hosting September. What a great addition to our university and athletics! We know this is something that will continue to grow and we are very thankful for this inaugural group of students who will have a tremendous part in that growth. Go Bears and go TMU mountain bikers!"
