CLEVELAND, Ga. (Dec. 7, 2019) – The Truett McConnell University women's basketball team defeated the Tennessee Wesleyan University Bulldogs for their third straight win (70-66) on Saturday afternoon inside the Benjamin F. Brady Arena. The Lady Bears improved to 6-2, 3-2 AAC on the year, while the Bulldogs fell to 3-6, 3-4 AAC.

The Lady Bears led by as many as seven points in the first quarter (13-6) and
Sierra Kendall's last second bucket in the paint gave TMU a five-point lead heading into the second quarter (19-14). TMU went on to lead by as many as nine but the Bulldogs rallied to steal the lead with a 3-pointer with 41 seconds to go before the half (29-30).
The second half saw a tight race with the Lady Bears scoring 41 points and TWU putting up 36. After trading the lead back and forth throughout majority of the third quarter,
Sydney Rumble's free throw put them ahead for good (42-43) with still 11:44 to go in regulation. The closest the visiting Bulldogs got to the Lady Bears was by one point in the fourth quarter, while TMU led by as many as six.
Most notable, TMU outscored the Bulldogs in the paint 32-20.
LEADERS
Re'Tavia Floyd led all scorers with 22 points, while Kendall followed with 18 points and six rebounds.
Aisya Davis recorded a season high of 17 points with the addition of two assists.
Quan Holton had 11 rebounds and three assists. Floyd was also credited three assists.

The Lady Bears are set to host AAC foe Brenau University on Wednesday, Dec. 11, at 5:30 p.m. On Saturday, Dec. 14, TMU will face Allen University at 2:00 p.m., inside the Benjamin F. Brady Arena.
