CLEVELAND, Ga. (Dec. 11, 2019) – After leading by five at halftime (33-28), the Truett McConnell University fell behind in the second half to lose their third Appalachian Athletic Conference of the season against the Brenau Golden Tigers (61-46). The Bears fell to 6-3, 3-3 on the year inside the Benjamin F. Brady Arena on Wednesday night.

PLAY-BY-PLAY

The Golden Tigers managed to get out front in the final 20 seconds of the first quarter to lead by one heading into the second (16-17). But an Aisya Davis 3-pointer gave the Lady Bears their largest lead of the night (29-21). After possessing a five-point lead at halftime (33-28), Brenau came back out to pick up the pace.

Brenau, in fact, held the Lady Bears to just six points and scored 17 more points themselves in the third quarter to lead by six heading into the fourth (39-45). The closest TMU got to the Golden Tigers was by seven points in the final 10 minutes of regulation but Brenau led by no less than double-digits in the closing five minutes.

LEADERS

Sierra Kendall led all scorers on the night with 14 points and added nine rebounds, three blocks and two steals. Jessica Jackson followed with seven points and Davis added six points. Quan Holton was credited four assists.
