CLEVELAND, Ga. (Dec. 14, 2019) – Sierra Kendall's double-double of 18 points and 14 rebounds proved not enough as the Truett McConnell University women's basketball team fell to Allen University 79-58 in an Appalachian Athletic Conference showdown on Saturday afternoon. The Lady Bears fell to 6-4, 3-4 AAC on the year, while the Yellow Jackets improved to 9-3, 8-3 AAC to remain fourth in the AAC standings.
 
PLAY-BY-PLAY
After Allen opened up the game with a 3-pointer, the Yellow Jackets pushed to get out front by as many as 11 points in the first quarter (8-19). However, the Lady Bears were capable of bringing it back within a seven-point game heading into the second quarter (14-21). Kendall's clutch and-one in the paint put TMU behind by four points of the visiting Yellow Jackets (22-26), but Allen pulled away by 11 once again before the half (29-40).
 
Although the Yellow Jackets came back out in the third quarter to lead by as many as 20 points (42-62), TMU rallied to only get outscored by one point in the final 10 minutes of regulation (16-17) but the game proved to be out of reach.
 
LEADERS
While Kendall led all scorers with 18 points, the junior forward also had four blocks. Kendall currently ranks number 23 in the NAIA DII in field goal percentage (0.551) and number 27 in blocks per game (1.667). Aisya Davis followed with 10 points and three assists. Jessica Jackson added nine points, going 3-for-5 from behind the 3-point arc. Re'Tavia Floyd had three steals.

The Lady Bears will be on the road for five straight games, one exhibition. TMU will return to the Benjamin F. Brady Arena on Tuesday, Jan. 7, at 5:30 p.m., when they host AAC foe Reinhardt University.
