BLUEFIELED, Va. (Nov. 23, 2019) – After losing their first game of the season on Wednesday, the Truett McConnell University men's basketball team traveled to Bluefield College for their third Appalachian Athletic Conference game of the season. The Bears (4-2, 2-2 AAC) dropped their second game of the year (90-81) against the Rams (4-6, 3-3 AAC) on Saturday afternoon.

Although
Antonio Bonilla put the Bears up on the scoreboard first with a 3-pointer, the Rams responded with a 15-2 run within a matter of four minutes to put TMU at a 10-point deficit (5-15). TMU got within five (30-25) with 3:35 to go before the half, but Bluefield continued to gain momentum draining a 3-pointer in the final seconds to earn a 12-point lead heading into halftime (33-45).
With 4:38 to go in regulation, two
Marlon Allen free throws brought the Bears within five points (73-78) but the Rams got back out front by double digits with 2:29 left (73-85) and TMU was unable to bounce back.
LEADERS
Most notable, junior
JaDon Davis led all scorers with 18 points in 17:59 minutes of play.
Enocka Franky followed with 16 points and seven rebounds, while Bonilla had 11 points. Allen and
Darius Thrower added nine points apiece. Allen and
Cristian Colon were each credited three assists.

The Bears will conclude their November schedule with a nonconference game at Toccoa Falls College on Tuesday, Nov. 26, at 8:00 p.m. TMU will return home on Wednesday, Dec. 4, when they host Columbia International University at 7:30 p.m.
