CLEVELAND, Ga. (Oct. 8, 2019) – The Truett McConnell University women's volleyball team recorded their third sweep in a row on Tuesday night against Appalachian Athletic Conference foe Brenau University (25-20, 25-14, 25-17) inside the TMU Bear Cave. The Lady Bears are now 12-13, 8-6 AAC on the year.
PLAY-BY-PLAY
Two TMU 5-0 runs in game one put the Lady Bears ahead enough to not fall behind when Brenau went on strong run themselves. The Golden Tigers came in from behind to trail by just two but a
Ranavia Neal and
Abby Maxwell kill put the Lady Bears in winning position. Game two saw TMU's most dominating performance of the night. Most notable, TMU recorded a 8-0 run, which featured three straight service aces by
Bethany Ross, and the Lady Bears recorded 12 kills in comparison to Brenau's six. Another 5-0 run by TMU (23-11) proved to put the game out of reach.
The Lady Bears carried over the momentum to lead 7-1 from the start. However, it was a
Harris Anne Walker service ace and two straight kills by freshman
Audrey Henderson that sealed the sweep in the end.
