MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. (Oct. 11, 2019) – The Truett McConnell University women's volleyball team traveled to Appalachian Athletic Conference opponent Milligan College on Friday evening and lost in three straight sets (25-18, 25-17, 25-21). The Lady Bears are now 12-14, 8-7 AAC on the year.
Â
The first game saw the Buffaloes gain the lead from the start, which allowed Milligan to record a 5-0 run to get out front enough to maintain a strong lead all the way through. A
Ranavia Neal kill sparked a 5-0 by the Lady Bears, which brought TMU within seven (15-22), but Milligan did not let up. Milligan continued to remain on top in the second set, featuring a 7-0 run that held the Lady Bears behind by double digits. TMU tried to bounce back with a 7-1 run towards the end, but it proved not enough as Milligan only needed three points to win game two.
Â
The third and final set was much like the first two with the home team in the lead. The Buffs went on another 7-0 run to again lead by double-digits but the Lady Bears responded with a 9-1 run to come in from behind by two (20-22). Nonetheless, Milligan sealed the sweep in the end.
