DEMOREST, Ga. (Oct. 29, 2019) – The Truett McConnell University men's soccer team hosted Appalachian Athletic Conference opponent St. Andrews University on Piedmont College's home turf on Tuesday afternoon to complete their regular season with a 2-1 win. The Bears ended with a record of 6-7-4, 5-3-3 AAC.

In the 42nd minute, freshman Cody Carnes found the feet of Javier Rodriguez inside the box to finish TMU's first goal of the game (1-0). The Knights responded within the first three minutes with a goal of their own in the second half (1-1) but it only took eight minutes for Trevor Fick to net the winning goal. Evan Gaffney found Fick about 20 yards out, which allowed him to send the ball directly over the head of SAU's goalkeeper (2-1).

Fick led the way with five shots, two on target, while the Rodriguez followed with four, three on goal. Jacopo Borgalli and Alvaro Lorez added two shots apiece. Gaffney recorded a total of five saves on the night. The Bears outshot the Knights 16-11.

Up next, the Bears will wait and see who they will face in the AAC tournament.
