COLUMBIA, S.C. (Oct. 15, 2019) – After losing a heartbreaker in five sets early in the season to Columbia International University, the Truett McConnell University women's volleyball team bounced back with a strong sweep on the road on Tuesday night (25-23, 25-17, 28-26). The Lady Bears improved to 13-15, 9-8 AAC on the year.

CIU got out front on a 5-0 run and ended up leading by as many as six points, however, a
Madison Curtis kill sparked a strong dominating 8-0 run by the Lady Bears, which put them out front by two (18-16). Tied at 23 apiece, an attacking error and
Abby Maxwell block earned the Lady Bears' final two points to seal the first win of the night (25-23). After a
Bethany Ross kill put TMU out front 9-8 in the second set, the Lady Bears didn't let up the lead the rest of the way.

Game three saw the tightest contest of the night. Both teams were in winning position (25-24 TMU, 25-26 CIU), but it was the Lady Bears who came out on top with a 3-0 run to fasten their eighth AAC sweep of the season.

LEADERS
Ross led the way with a double-double of 11 kills and 13 digs. Senior
Harris Anne Walker and freshman
Ranavia Neal followed with five kills apiece and six blocks; Curtis added four blocks. Junior
Hannah Lee led defensively with 14 digs while Maxwell was credited 25 assists on the night.
