CLEVELAND, Ga. (Jan. 5, 2019) – For the first time in the last two seasons, the Truett McConnell University wrestling team earned a win. The Bears defeated Appalachian Athletic Conference foe Bluefield College, 37-12, on Saturday afternoon.
"I'm proud of our guys for being resilient and continue to work hard regardless of the outcome," Head Coach Jonathan Jackson said. "I applaud these young men for putting their teammates on their back and working hard for one another. Wrestling can be physically and mentally taxing, I believe our guys are trending in the right direction at this point of the season."
Saturday's win marks Jackson's first TMU coaching career win.
Up next, the Bears are back on the road for the rest of January but will return to the TMU Bear Cave on Wednesday, Feb. 6, to host AAC opponent Allen University.
