CLEVELAND, Ga. (Jan. 16, 2019) – Sierra Kendall recorded her seventh double-double of her sophomore campaign but the Truett McConnell University women's basketball team fell in an Appalachian Athletic Conference battle against Union College inside the Benjamin F. Brady Arena on Wednesday night (68-46). The Lady Bears sunk to 3-15, 2-13 AAC while the Bulldogs improved to 11-7, 8-6 AAC on the year.
PLAY-BY-PLAY
The Bulldogs got out front early and did not allow TMU to gain any lead the rest of the game. The most Union led by was five in the first quarter. However, the Bulldogs managed to lead by 11 at one point in the second quarter. TMU held the Bulldogs to just 11 points in the second quarter to trail by just seven at the half.Â
Union got hot in the third quarter draining five 3-pointers to further put the game out of reach. In fact, the Bulldogs drained a total of 10 3-pointers in comparison to TMU's five. Union's 3-point and free throw shooting (14-of-17) solidified the AAC win over the Lady Bears in the final 20 minutes of regulation.
LEADERS
Kendall's double-double of 14 points and 12 rebounds led the squad. Kendall also had three blocks. Freshman Natalie Nixon followed with a career high of 12 points. Fellow freshman Re'Tavia Floyd added 10 points.
