Lady Bears' Historic Season Ends at National Tournament

Hattiesburg, Ms. | After forcing a second game against #7 ranked Indiana Wesleyan (56-10 overall) in the championship of the Opening Round of the 2018 NAIA Softball National Championship, Truett McConnell (43-16 overall) needed one win to advance to the 2018 NAIA Softball World Series in Clermont, FL.

Freshman Karley Hobbs was named the starter for the championship of the Hattiesburg Bracket.

Indiana Wesleyan had an early surge in the bottom of the 1st, as they posted four runs. Bethany Hyde was called in to relieve Hobbs of her pitching duties early.

Throughout the remainder of the game, the Lady Bears were unable to respond to Indiana Wesleyan, as the Lady Bears fell in their season finale to #7 Indiana Wesleyan by a final score of 7-0.

The Lady Bears' season comes to a close, as they finish the their remarkable season with an overall record of 43-17.
