Box Score 2 Cleveland, Ga. - The Truett McConnell Softball team would play host to Union College on Wednesday afternoon. Coming into the matchup, Truett McConnell was sitting at a 10-6 overall record and 2-0 in the AAC.
Game 1
Beginning the afternoon, the Lady Bears struck first in the bottom of the 1st inning as
Reba Jones drove in
Sara Sullivan with a single up the middle.
In the top half of the 2nd inning, the Union Bulldogs had the bases loaded when Gore hit a grand slam to put the Bulldogs up 4-1.
Both teams pushed across an additional run in the 5th inning, setting the score at 5-2.
Neither side would be able to break open the score anymore with the final score staying at 5-2 as the Lady Bears dropped Game 1.

Game 2 featured
Karley Hobbs on the mound for the Lady Bears as she was coming off throwing a no-hitter this past Saturday against Milligan. She continued her no-hitter rhythm through the 3rd inning.
The Bulldogs were able to break up Hobbs no-hit bid in the 4
th inning, where Hayley Lyell shot a two run homerun over the centerfield fence.
In the bottom half of the 4th inning,
Milly Martinet answered back with a homerun of her own to bring the score to 2-1.
After the 6th inning, the Bulldogs had pushed across another pair of runs putting Union up 4-1. The Bears responded in the bottom half of the inning with another run of their own as Loudermilk knocked in
Reba Jones. The Lady Bears would finish the 6th inning down 4-2.
In the bottom half of the 7th inning, the Lady Bears were down to their last three outs as
Jaden Morrison stepped up to lead off the inning. Morrison would reach base safely off a well-placed bunt.
Kaitlynn Hay singled, but Morrison was tagged trying to get back to second. With one out and a runner on first,
Sara Sullivan stepped to the plate and delivered a single over the third basemen's head. Jones was able to extend the inning with a single of her own, pushing both Hay and Sullivan home to tie the score up at 4-4.
Milly Martinet would hit a single for the Lady Bears, and
Sarah Wills would pinch run for her. With the winning run standing at second,
Brie Levy singled to left to drive in the winning run as the Lady Bears walked away with a big 7th inning comeback win 5-4.
With the split of Union, the Lady Bears improve their record to 11-7 overall and 3-1 in the AAC. The Lady Bears will be back in action Saturday, March 10th as they host
Allen University at 1 & 3 PM.
