The Lady Bears dropped game 1 7-2.

Georgia Gwinnett, who was 18-1 and #1 in the country, consistently put up runs throughout the game as they scored in four of the seven innings.

The Lady Bears' offense never found their footing. They were able to produce seven hits on the game against Georgia Gwinnett pitching, but they were only able to push across two runs.

Karley Hobbs, who has been excellent for the Bears all season, did not disappoint as she stepped on the mound to face a team who had only been beaten one time in their last 20 games.

The Lady Bears jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead when
Milly Martinet drove home Hay and Sullivan.

Hobbs shut the Grizzlies out through the first 4 innings. The Grizzlies broke up the shut out with a their lone run scoring in the 5th inning.

The Lady Bears were able to tack on another pair of runs in the bottom of the 6th.

The final score was 4-1, as the Bears knocked off the #1 team in the nation.
Karley Hobbs continues to dominate on the mound for the Bears earning her 10th win of the season. Opponents are hitting only .200 against Hobbs. Hobbs has posted a 2.01 ERA in her 15 appearances. Â
The Lady Bears will be back in action on Thursday, March 15th, as they travel to Talladega, AL to take on Talladega College.
