Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 The Lady Bears Softball team swept their Opening Day games against Brewton-Parker College. They won the first game 6-0, and the second game by a slim margin of 7-6. The Lady Bears start their season off with a 2-0 record. 

The first game was a pitchers duel. Both pitchers were very efficient. The Lady Bear's bats finally came alive in the bottom of the 6th inning. Milly Martinet brought in 2 RBI's, while Macey Dunaway, Reba Jones, Sara Sullivan, and Sarah Horne were all credited with 1 RBI's, respectively. 

Bethany Hyde threw a complete game shutout (7 IP, 1 H, 2 BB, 8 SO), coming up one out shy of a no-hitter on her way to her first win of the season. 

Brewton-Parker jumped out to an early 3-2 lead after 3 innings. A 5 run 4th inning helped the Lady Bears jump out to a 7-4 lead. Brewton-Parker attempted to make a late comeback, as they scored 3 runs in the top of the 7th, but Megan Burke was able to save the game, as Brewton-Parker left the tying and go-ahead runs on base. 

Milly Martinet went 2-3 from the plate, including 2 HR's and 4 RBI's. Reba Jones and Sarah Horne also provided 1 RBI each. Karley Hobbs started the game, and got her 1st win on the season. She threw 6 innings, while giving up 6 ER's, with 3 BB and 6 SO's. 

The Lady Bears will be back in action on Friday, as they travel to Pulaski, TN to take on Martin Methodist College in a doubleheader. First pitch is set for 2 P.M. and 4 P.M. (CT).
