CLEVELAND, GA. | The Truett McConnell Bears improved to a 4-4 start with two wins over Piedmont International Friday afternoon, winning game one 15-4 before defeating the Bruins 11-1 in the second game of the day.
The Bears came out swinging in game one of the double-header against Piedmont International University. The Bears batted around, pushing across 8 runs in the bottom of the first, giving Greg Elder a comfortable lead. Elder pitched 4.0 innings, striking eleven while giving up only one run. Dalton Cameron and Jacob Johns pitched in relief for the Bears.The Bears offense consistently tacked in runs on the board throughout the rest of the game. TMU left game one with a final score of 15-4.

The Bears' bats continued to roll in game two scoring 11 runs in total. Josh Johnston had a season high 3 hits in his 5 at bats in the latter game of Friday's double header. Andrew Fogarty supplied 3 RBI's and a pair of doubles as well. Freshman Jackson Meadors joined the parade with his first collegiate HR. This was all the support the freshman duo on the mound needed to secure the win for the Bears. Craig Barton grabbed his first collegiate win (5.0 innings, 3K, 3H, 1R). Cody Nix came in and slammed the door with a two inning appearance with 3K's of his own.
