COLUMBIA, SC. | The Truett McConnell University women's basketball team fell 61-68 on the road Saturday afternoon to Columbia College (SC) in AAC action.
TMU got off to a decent start trailing by just three at 15-12 after the first quarter. Big basket behind the arc from
Madison Curtis helped start the second period with a bang to tie the score. The two teams went basket for basket the remainder of the 2nd quarter, sending the teams into halftime 28-28 with a free throw from TMU's
Sierra Kendall.
Shooting 60 percent from the field in the third quarter, Columbia College outscored the Lady Bears, 24-17. Despite matching the Koalas point-for-point in the fourth quarter (16-16), the Bears were still unable to catch up from their third period deficit.
Columbia finished the game shooting 38 percent overall while TMU shot 36 percent. The difference came at the three-point line and second chance points by the Lady Bears which stunted their chances of a rally.
