Kendall records season high double-double, Lady Bears lose at Life

MARIETTA, Ga. (Dec. 17, 2018) – Sierra Kendall recorded a season high and fourth double-double of her sophomore campaign on Monday night against the Life University Running Eagles, a NAIA DI program, on the road. The Lady Bears fell to the Running Eagles (89-58) falling to 2-10, 1-8 AAC on the year while Life improved to 10-2.

PLAY BY PLAY

The start of the game saw the Running Eagles hold the Lady Bears to just eight points in the first 10 minutes while they put up 18 points themselves. Despite a 10-point deficit, TMU worked to score triple the amount of points in the second quarter but it was only up from there for the Running Eagles (24-43). Life led by 19 at the half but went on to lead by as much as 28 in the third quarter and by 30 in the fourth.

LEADERS

Kendall's season high of 21 points and 12 rebounds led all scorers. Freshman Re'Tavia Floyd, the team's leading scorer (105 total, 9.5 average), followed Kendall with 11 points and seven rebounds. Fellow freshman Helena Lee added eight points and five rebounds while Quan Holton earned six. Camilla Howell and Hannah Dunston were credited three assists apiece.

COACH'S COMMENTS

"This was the most athletic team we will see all year," Head Coach Tiek Fields said. "As a group we have to improve on both sides of the ball before January 2 if we are going to make a run. We have our moments but we're lacking consistency right now as a team."

UP NEXT

The Lady Bears will travel to Piedmont College on Saturday, Dec. 29, for their last nonconference game of the 2018 year. TMU will return home to the Benjamin F. Brady Arena on Wednesday, Jan. 2, to take on AAC foe Tennessee Wesleyan University.
