CLEVELAND, Ga. (Nov. 3, 2018) – After a winning season opener, the Truett McConnell University women's basketball team dropped a nonconference NAIA matchup against Webber International University on Saturday at the Benjamin F. Brady Arena (74-39).
The Bears were led by Yasmine Avery with 11 points and Camilla Howell with 10 points. For the second consecutive game, Sierra Kendall led in rebounds with 13. Nicole Bates added six points and four rebounds and Hannah Dunston was credited three assists.
After trailing by just eight points going into the second half, the Warriors held the Lady Bears to just seven points in the third quarter all the while putting up 21 points themselves (32-52). Similar to the third quarter, the Warriors held the Lady Bears to single digits but dominated to put up 22 more points to secure their victory over TMU.
The Lady Bears drained six three-pointers in comparison to Webber International's four. Both teams accounted for 38 rebounds apiece.
Up next, the Lady Bears will begin Appalachian Athletic Conference play at Union College on Wednesday, Nov. 7, at 5:30 p.m., before returning home to host Columbia International on Saturday, Nov. 10, at 2:00 p.m.
