CLEVELAND, Ga. (Nov. 17, 2018) – The Truett McConnell University women's basketball team hosted Montreat College for their fourth Appalachian Athletic Conference game of the season. The Cavaliers handed the Lady Bears (2-4, 1-3 AAC) their third conference loss of the year on Saturday afternoon (73-54).
Â
After an evenly played first quarter 11-11, the Cavaliers drained five threes in the second quarter to lead by six points at halftime (24-30). The third quarter saw Montreat still hot behind the three-point arc going 3-for-4 to outscore TMU again by five (37-48). A Sierra Kendall bucket got the Lady Bears within nine points of the Cavs but that would be the closest TMU would get. Overall Montreat made 13 3-pointers as a team.Â
Â
Kendall led the Lady Bears with nine points, 16 rebounds and four blocks while senior Sarah Hartshorn and freshman Nicole Bates added eight points apiece. Fellow freshman Quan Holton led with four assists.
Â
Up next, the Lady Bears will host another AAC foe, Bluefield College, on Tuesday, Nov. 20, at 5:30 p.m.Â
