CLEVELAND, Ga. (Nov. 17, 2018) – The Truett McConnell University men's basketball team fell to Montreat College on Saturday evening inside the Benjamin F. Brady Arena (72-57). The Bears dropped to 3-2, 1-2 AAC on the year.

The Bear started out the game slow as Montreat outscored TMU by 12 in the first 20 minutes of play. The second half saw the Bears pick up the pace as TMU put up 34 points in comparison to the Cavaliers' 37. The Bears came within 10 points of the Cavs in the final 20 minutes of the game but it proved not enough as Montreat kept up the pace to finish the game.

Senior Filipe Goncalves led with 15 points off the bench while sophomore Myles Monroe followed with 14 and three steals. Fellow sophomore Calvin White added four points and 12 rebounds and senior Jacob Booke added seven points. 

Up next, the Bears will host another AAC foe, Bluefield College, on Tuesday, Nov. 20, at 7:30 p.m.
