CLEVELAND, Ga. (Oct. 27, 2018) – The Truett McConnell University women's soccer team's victory over the Brenau University Golden Tigers (4-0) completed the Lady Bears' Appalachian Athletic Conference regular season. Despite already claiming the AAC regular season title, TMU's shutout over the Golden Tigers solidifies an AAC clean sheet all the while allowing just one AAC goal the entire season. The Lady Bears have now won 14 straight and tallied 14 shutouts, of 16 games (15-1, 12-0 AAC).

The team still leads the NAIA DI in shutouts per game (0.870) and ranks number two in total shutouts (13).

TMU outshot the Golden Tigers 10-3 while the McCall sisters each found the back of the net for the Lady Bears in the first 45 minutes of play. Sophomore Jennifer McCall earned the ball deflected off Brenau defenders at the top of the 12 to drill her eighth goal of the year (1-0). Senior sister Megan McCall then went on to nail a free kick directly past the keeper to send the Lady Bears into the half with a two-goal cushion.

Six minutes into the second half, Jessica Lanier crossed M. McCall the ball inside the box which led to another powerful strike by the senior. M. McCall's strike shot bounced off the bottom right inside post and was sent straight into the net (3-0). With 12 minutes left to go, J. McCall found freshman Syndey Ziglar's feet enabling Ziglar to tally her fifth goal of her freshman campaign (4-0).

All in all, the Lady Bears outshot Brenau 18-8 and held them to only two shots on goal. M. McCall led with eight shots, three on goal, while Jennifer McCall and Lydia Williams added two apiece.

TMU's next game will be announced when determined for the AAC tournament.
