CLEVELAND, Ga. (Oct. 25, 2018) – The Truett McConnell University women's volleyball team hosted Appalachian Athletic Conference foe Union College on Thursday evening. The Lady Bears fell in straight sets to the Bulldogs 21-25, 15-25, 17-25 to fall to 11-18, 6-9 AAC on the year.
The Lady Bears earned the first three points of the opening set and kept the lead until the Bulldogs went on a mid-set 4-0 run and the lead was back and forth from there. A Jordan Henshaw kill put TMU out front (21-19) but Union clinched the win on a 6-0 run (21-25).
Similar to first game, both teams battled in out in the beginning but the Bulldogs were capable of gaining the right amount of momentum to finish off the set (15-25). An 8-0 run by Union proved to be the difference in the third set (17-25).
Shayla Smith led with nine kills, Jordan Henshaw followed with six and Bethany Ross added five. Hannah Lee compiled a total of 28 digs while Abby Maxwell was credited 20 assists.
Up next, the Lady Bears will host Bryan College on Saturday, Oct. 27, at 1:00 p.m.
