Lady Bears win 13th straight, 13th shutout

CLEVELAND, Ga. (Oct. 23, 2018) – Three different Lady Bears scored for the Truett McConnell University women's soccer team in a nonconference shutout against Bob Jones University on Tuesday afternoon at the TMU Soccer Complex, 3-0. TMU recorded their 13th straight win and 13th shutout to improve to 14-1, 11-0 AAC on the year.

Senior Lauren Huston netted the first goal of the day after a ball sent from Sydney Ziglar into the box deflected off the Bob Jones' keeper (1-0). Hardly a minute later, sophomore Marissa Harkins, the most recent Appalachian Athletic Conference women's soccer defensive player of the week, drilled the ball sent from Tori Wilson on a corner kick with her head to put TMU at a two-goal advantage going into the half (2-0).

Junior Jasmine Lanuza netted the third and final goal of the evening after senior Megan McCall, the latest AAC women's soccer offensive player of the week, found her feet inside the box (3-0). Overall, the Lady Bears did not allow the Bruins to tally one single shot on goal as TMU shot 21 times, 13 on goal. TMU also earned 10 corner kicks in comparison to their none.

M. McCall led with five shots, three on goal, and Jessica Lanier shot four times, two on goal.

Up next, TMU will host Brenau University for their final regular season game on Saturday, Oct. 27, at 2:00 p.m
