CLEVELAND, Ga. (Oct. 13, 2018) – The Truett McConnell University women's volleyball team's fourth straight Appalachian Athletic Conference winning streak was snapped on Saturday afternoon inside the TMU Bear Cave. The Lady Bears fell to the Tennessee Wesleyan Bulldogs in straight sets (25-27, 22-25, 24-26) dropping to 11-14, 6-7 AAC on the year.

Despite Tennessee Wesleyan earning the first five points of the set, the Lady Bears dominated the kills column earning 15 in comparison to Tennessee Wesleyan's 10. In fact, TMU led by as much as five(20-15). All TMU needed was one point (25-24) but the Bulldogs rallied just in time to take the first set on a kill (25-27). Game two saw both teams battle it out back to back. Trailing by a point (21-20), Tennessee Wesleyan pushed three and it proved enough as they won the second game straight (22-25).
Once again the Lady Bears outshined the Bulldogs in the kills column in the third set (12-9). Similar to the first two games, both teams went head to head. Again, TMU only needed a point (24-1) but Tennessee Wesleyan went on a 5-0 run to officially break the Lady Bears' four game win streak with a sweep (24-26).
LEADERS
For the sixth game straight Shayla Smith and Bethany Ross led the Lady Bears in kills tallying 11 apiece. Abby Maxwell compiled a total of 38 assists and six digs while Hanna Lee led with 12.

TMU will be back on the road for two more AAC matches at Point University on Friday, Oct. 19, and Reinhardt University on Saturday, Oct. 20.
