Men's Basketball falls on the road in Columbia SC to the yellow jackets, 96-88

COLUMBIA, SC. |    The Truett McConnell University men's basketball traveled to Columbia South Carolina Tuesday night to face AAC foe Allen University for the first conference game of the new year. Despite TMU's five players to reach double figures offensively, the yellow jackets' bench outscored TMU 22-7 for a conference win. The Bears are now 12-5 on the season and 5-3 in AAC play.

The Bears finished the first half strong leading 46-40 against the yellow jackets with a bucket at the end by Jacob Booke. Allen came out in the second half with solid offensive play at the thirteen minute mark going on a 11-0 run to take the lead for the first time in the game. The yellow jackets continued solid play for the remainder of the game to finish out an AAC conference win.

TMU had a season high of five players to receive double figures offensively against Allen. Jacob Booke had a high of 21 points for the game. Christian Davis (19), Filipe Goncalves (16), Eddie Hurst with a season high (14), and Calvin White (11) each had big time games on the offensive side for TMU. 

The Bears will continue AAC play this Thursday back home in the Bear Cave at 7:30 p.m. against St. Andrews University in search for their first conference win of the new year.
