Barbourville, GA. | The Truett women's basketball team traveled to Barbourville, KY Saturday afternoon in search for another conference against AAC foe Union College. With solid offensive play from
Anna Murr and
Bralise Reese finishing in double digits, it wasn't enough to seal an AAC victory. The Lady Bears are now 1-16 in AAC play and 3-18 for the season.
The Lady Bears got down as much as 10 points in the first period until senior
Anna Murr hit big shots to cut the lead down four, 15-11. Union came out strong in the second quarter with solid bench play taking on a 12 point lead. The Lady Bears retaliated to go on a 7-0 run in the last two minutes going into the half down five 34-29.
The Lady Bears got out to a slow start coming out of the half allowing the Lady Bulldogs to lead as much as 18 points. Union held off TMU the entire fourth period to seal a conference victory, 71-56.
The Lady Bears finished with two players in double figures. Senior
Anna Murr lead TMU offensively with 22 points. Also leading the Bears was
Bralise Reese with 14 over Union.
The Lady Bears will be back home in the Bear Cave this upcoming Tuesday night as they take on St. Andrews University. Tip off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
