A hot start from the St. Andrews Knights helped defeat the Lady Bears at home in the Bear Cave Tuesday night by a final score of 44-69.

Both teams traded baskets early, starting with a 4-4 tie, but phenomenal shooting from the court for St. Andrews helped them with a 23-2 run to secure a 27-6 lead after the 1st quarter. TMU's Sarah Hartshorn received hot hands knocking down 3 three-pointers in the 2nd quarter. Scoring from Kinley Mitchell and Bralise Reese helped the Lady Bears fight their way to stay in the game, going into the locker room down 19-44.

The Lady Bears defense came out strong in the 2nd half as they started with a 7-2 run, but St. Andrews continued to shoot the ball efficiently. The Lady Bear's offense began to show signs of life in the 4th quarter, but it wasn't enough to comeback from the deficit as they ultimately fell by a final score of 44-69.

Sierra Kendall finished the game with a double-double (13 pts, 11 reb), and Sarah Hartshorn contributed finishing in double-digit scoring (11 pts).

The Lady Bears will be back in action Thursday, February 1st to face Point University in West Point, GA. Tip-off is set for 5:30 P.M. The live-stream for the game will be available at tmbears.com.
