CLEVELAND, GA. | The TMU women's basketball team fell to AAC rival Tennessee Wesleyan Wednesday night by a final score of 55-68. The lady bears are now 1-15 in conference play and 3-15 overall in the season.
Senior
Anna Murr scored her 1,000th career point at TMU early in the 3rd quarter with a step back jumper. Murr is now the 2nd leading scorer in TMU women's basketball history as a 4 year NAIA institution. Head Coach
Tiek Fields bragged on Murr saying, " Anna definitely worked hard for every point scored in her four years here at TMU. She's our second 1,000 point scorer since we have been NAIA. As a coach I am honored to have a chance to be a part of it and see her game evolve."
Starting the contest, both teams traded baskets early on until Tennessee Wesleyan pulled out to a 19-13 lead closing out the first quarter. The lady bears started off the second period with an 11-6 run with solid play offensively from
Bralise Reese and
Anna Murr. The lady bulldogs fought their way back to lead TMU 37-35 going into the locker room at the half.
Coming out at the half, the lady bulldogs controlled the offensive side outscoring TMU 18-9 for the 3rd quarter. TMU was never able to cut the lead as TN Wesleyan cruised their way to a conference victory, 68-55.

Anna Murr trailed right behind her finishing with 14 points for the night.
The TMU lady bears will be on the road this upcoming Saturday as they travel to Barbourville, KY to take on Union College. Game time is scheduled for 2 p.m.
