Men's Basketball drops to Bryan College in AAC contest, 80-70

DAYTON, GA. |   The Truett McConnell men's basketball team was out-shot by Bryan College Thursday night as the Lions ran away with the game, winning by a final score of 80-70. The Bears are now 13-8 on the season and 6-6 on AAC play.

The Bears never led in the game as Bryan hit a three-pointer on the opening possession. Freshman Myles Monroe tied it up on the Bears' first possession, but Bryan stayed hot from the field as they pulled away early and never looked back. The Lions finished the first half leading 31-23 over the Bears.

Although the Bears were able to hold Bryan's leading scorer Oteriah Lee to 6 points and 7 turnovers for the night, other players stepped up for the Lions offensively to finish out the contest with a conference victory. The Rams shot over 48 percent from the field compared to TMU's 39 percent.

Freshman Myles Monroe hit a season high of 18 points for the night going 6-7 from the field and 2-3 behind the arch. Also leading for the Bears offensively was Senior David Campbell Jr. (14) and Filipe Goncalves (14).

The Bears will remain on the road this upcoming Saturday as they travel to Montreat College in North Carolina. Tip off is scheduled at 7:30 p.m following the women's game.
