Cleveland, Ga. | The Truett McConnell volleyball team lost a tightly contested conference match against St. Andrews Tuesday night at home. The Lady Bears are now 0-6 and 0-1 in conference play.

Truett and SAU went back and forth in a tight first set until SAU pulled away winning 25-21. The Lady Bears started out slow getting down 15-5 in the second set before making a strong comeback cutting the lead to five at 20-15.However, it was to late and the Knights came back with the last five points of the set to finish it 25-15.

The final set also was competitive for the first 20 points until SAU went on a mini run to lead 13-9. Truett could never get within three points after that as SAU went on to win 25-19.

Shayla Smith, Olivia Beasley, and Jordan Henshaw each had three kills for the night. 

The Lady Bears will be on the road the rest of the week as they face Union this upcoming Friday at 6:30 p.m. and then Bluefield on Saturday at 11:00 a.m.
