CLEVELAND | The Truett McConnell basketball teams have their opening round opponents set for the 2017 Appalachian Athletic Conference Tournament hosted in Kingsport, Tennessee, this upcoming week. The women and men are both the No. 7 seed in the tournament.

The women will open up against the No. 10 seed Montreat on Wednesday at 1:45 p.m. The Bears swept the season series against the Cavaliers, defeating them 56-46 at home on December 7 and 55-46 in Montreat on February 1. With a win, the Bears would then match up with the No. 2 seeded Reinhardt Eagles, who shared the regular season title with Milligan but lost the tiebreaker putting them in the second seed.

The men will begin play on Wednesday as well against No. 10 Bryan at 5:15 p.m. TMU dropped both games to Bryan by a combined five points, fallling at home, 72-68, on January 21 and 70-69 on Saturday in Dayton, Tennessee. With a win, the men would also match up with Reinhardt, who earned the No. 2 seed behind Union, who went undefeated in conference play.
