CLEVELAND | The Truett McConnell softball team earned two run-rule victories over Agnes Scott Thursday afternoon, winning game one 13-0 before throwing a one-hitter in the second game in an 8-0 win.
Game One: TMU 13, Agnes Scott 0 (5 inn.)
The Bears used two six-run innings to blow the game open after scoring the first run in the second inning.Â
TMU batted around in the third and fourth innings, earning 12 runs off 10 hits.
Taylor Nix pitched a three-hit shutout with four strikeouts to earn the win.
Game Two: TMU 8, Agnes Scott 0 (6 inn.)
The Bears put up two runs in the second inning and four runs in the fourth inning to really put the game to rest early.
Bethany Hyde pitched a one-hitter by striking out five Scotties.
Milly Martinet finished the doubleheader 3-for-7 with four RBI and a run scored.
The Bears and Scotties will meet again on Saturday in Cleveland with the doubleheader set to begin at 1 p.m.
