RIO GRANDE, OH. | Despite big a game offensively for both seniors
David Campbell Jr. and Mario Westbrook, the TMU Bears fell short on the road in Ohio against University of Rio Grande. Leading most of the game, the TMU Bears fell short in the final 3 seconds, 81-78.
Truett and Rio Grande went back and forth the entire game with neither team leading by more than 7 at any point during the second half.
Rio Grande took advantage of their second point chance opportunities outscoring the Bears 28-2. With three seconds left to go in the game only being down by one, TMU's missed free throw forced them to foul and send URG to the free throw line. This ultimately sealed the win after Rio Grande hit the winning free throws.
TMU's seniors lead the way offensively up in Ohio with
Mario Westbrooks finishing with 22 while
David Campbell Jr. finished with 20.
The Bears will jump back into league play this upcoming Tuesday on the road as they head to Allen University in South Carolina. Tip off time is set for 7:30 p.m.
