CLEVELAND, GA. | Women's Basketball Falls Short in Season Opener against Life Univ.
The Truett McConnell women's basketball team led for three entire quarters, but big runs by Life University led to a 6-point win, 60-54, for the Eagles Friday night. The Bears tied in the first quarter 10-10 before going on a 10-0 run to start the second quarter. With a strong finish in the paint,
Bralise Reese ended the half with a decent lead 27-19 for the Lady Bears.
Coming out with intensity in the second half, TMU's
Anna Murr knocks down back to back three pointers with an assist from Bralise Reese to extend the lead 41-23. It wasn't long before the Lady Eagles made a come back in the 4th quarter with a 10-0 run against the Lady Bears. Ultimately with three minutes left in the game, Life took control to finish with a win 54-60.
"I thought we played hard and together majority of the game. Just had a few mental lapse toward the end against tough Life's team," stated from Head Coach

TMU's
Sarah Hartshorn led the team with 11 points for the night while
Sierra Kendall added a double double dropping 10 points and 12 rebounds. Bralise Reese went 3-9 from the field dropping 9 points while
Anna Murr also pitched in with a 9 point piece.
The Lady Bears will resume action Tuesday November 7th as they seek to seal their first season victory against Columbia International University home in the Bear Cave. Tip off starts at 5:30 p.m. Come out as we celebrate Tesnatee Gap Elementary School Night.
